Kurt Warner Retires

After 12 years in the NFL, 4 time pro bowl quarterback Kurt Warner has decided to call it a career. I thought he was very honest about the retirement thoughts in his press conference after he, for the most part, tried to put it to the side while his team was in the playoffs. He said the longer he played, the closer he was coming to hanging up the jersey and cleats. Warner was 67-49 as a starting QB. He threw over 200 TDs for his career. His plans for the future of course include family but he also said that he’d like to be a preacher or minister in his life after football. He wants to eventually watch his kids go to college and play football on Saturdays. He also is very active in the community and wants to continue those initiatives. As far as his Hall of Fame credentials are concerned, he’s in in my book. Not only because he went to 3 Super Bowls, but on two teams in St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals that before he got there were football purgatory. Matt Leinart will now take over as QB of the Arizona Cardinals. Has he matured or is he still stuck in LA? This despite talented players such as Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Steve Breaston, and Tim Hightower. Now is his chance to prove himself. 4 Pro Bowls, 3 Super Bowls, 2 MVPs, 1 very decorated career.

    Warner is easy a HOF.
Its amazing what he’s done to these franchises, and I believe the cardinals will step up and kick ass still. Were so young still, and have to much talent to let go to waste. The fact of being a playoff team again is all on our QB shoulders i think, wheather its leinart or some rookie.

@666ThaScarecro666 – Those idiots are called Haters and Ignorant Morons. They couldn’t play one down on Madden, much less in the NFL. Kurt Warner is by far one of the greatest QB to ever played the game. He is also a man of GOD. Thank you Kurt for the greatest years. It was great being a fan of yours.

It’s crap what they’re saying on ESPN radio. He didn’t play for the Giants, Jets, Cowboys, Patriots, or Packers so Bristol doesn’t care.

I live in Az and in the past its been hard to want to be a fan of the Cardinals. Mr. Warner has made it ez to be a fan and has actually given me something to look forward these past seasons. He will be missed and I do agree that he is HOF material.

i couldnt stand warner when he was with the rams….so much so that when we got him at arizona, i was pissed…….but following his personal story, and the way he took over my favorite team, and took them to heights never before dreamed of, Kurt is by far my favorite qb of all time..and keep in mind, im a VOLS fan, so there’s the whole Peyton manning issue for me..but Kurt will go down as a legend for sure.
