help!? need good soccer advice…?
I am currently on a U-14 team. WE just played our first game and lost 6-3. I was good but i always feel scared to lose the ball so i pass it off. I recently started dribbling myself but can someone tell me how to improve my dribbling skills, i have turf and shoes ,etc. but i need drills and tricks. Thanks in advance!

just get a friend go out and play one vs one….you’ll get better at going against people and wont be afraid to take some on during a game….i play for a U-17 team and usually we go talk to our coach if we need advice…maybe go ask for a private lesson…but if you have spare time go outside and practice…when your walking around your house…dribble the ball with you…
all I can say is just keep practicing n ur spare time go run and dribble, youll get it! : D
I’m 14 and our team won 8-0 and 6-1. We only have 2 good dribblers out of about 12 kids. But we are all fast and can pass good. Honestly just kicking it around the guy and trying to chase after it works fine for me. Occasionally I do a liitle move. Just dribble until they play you and try to make the right decision. Sorry I couldn’t teach how to do some moves but it’s all i got.
Hey !
Um…. try kicking the ball in between your feet and practice your moves. (step over, scissors, v-move,etc.) Just work on your touch and your dribbling will probably get better!
Hope that helps!
Sounds like you are playing AYSO, not good for learning soccer skills, coaching and officiating very low standard. Just get a ball out and practice ball control by yourself in the local park, watch pros on tv and try to emulate them, and when you play if you are in AYSO play your own game, but don’t tell the coach. I coach my son he is a good player, and I teach him to ignor his coach, my son scored a goal today, 4 last week 2 the week before and 3 before that, but he has to listen to me.AYSO coaches are clueless.Good luck have confidence in your own ability.
The best soccer played is when it passed around. Yes it is good to develop good individual skills, but it is a team sport. One good way to achieve good control is to pass the ball quickly and first touch between you and a friend or friends. If alone, 3-4 feet from a wall also is good. Just kick first touch without stopping it.
