Does it matter what kind of shoes you wear in soccer?
It’s better to play with a soccer cleat than a basketball shoe. You’re going to have to practice with the new footwear before you play (you can’t expect to be used to the new feel the first time you play with them). A soccer cleat will give you more control of the ball because it fits closer to your foot. There is also a larger kicking surface which is not textured by laces (most soccer cleats now have lace covers). Laces can affect your kick and therefore throw it off.
Remember that the shoes don’t make the player. They won’t make you any better or any worse, but make sure to purchase a decent cleat. I find that leather is usually better than synthetic because it adapts to your foot much better.
If your going to be playing on turf or grass it would be better to use cleats, and if your going to play indoor it might still make a difference using indoor soccer shoes than b-ball shoes. At first it will feel different but its a matter of time to get used to the shoes.
What shoes should I get for Indoor Soccer?
Price not being an issue what is the best quality In-Door Turf soccer shoe?
Brand and Model suggestions?
I would either get the Nike Air Zoom Control II b/c of the great grip you get on the ball or the Nike Zoom Total 90 Supreme TF/IC iD b/c you could customize your it with your team's colors.
