i am a Safety in football so i need to be agile, quick, fast, and i need to have a good grip on the turf which would be the best shoe for me? I was looking at the Nike Vapors (football) but i heard many stories. I also heard Soccer shoes are lighter, they have better grip. The only thing is can they handle the wear and tear of football? What i want in my shoe is what every person looks in one light, And comfortable thak you.
I am looking to get new soccer cleats and the field I will be playing on at my school is turf, not real grass. Now I am wondering if cleats that are FG (firm ground) will work or if I should get cleats that are labeled AG (artificial ground) or ones that are labeled turf. I’ve heard that FG works with turf and that AG and turf cleats are for indoor turf…so I’m unsure of which type to get.
I’ve picked out the cleats I want to get, so I don’t need suggestions on which ones to get. I’m just trying to decide on whether to get those cleats in FG or AG. I will be playing on turf fields mostly. I know AG is specifically made for that, but I know a lot of people who use FG on turf fields. Which one should I go with?
by turf I don’t mean indoor turf. I’m talking about outdoor turf fields like most football fields are these days.
My daughter plays both indoor and outdoor soccer. Indoor they play turf and outdoor on grass. She has a pair of indoor cleats that are fairly new I want to know if she can use them outdoor as well so I don’t have to buy another pair.
If I wear these for indoor soccer?(carpet like ground) will it ruin the shoes? I’ve only worn them maybe twice on hard outdoor ground….
I mean will it wear down the little peg type things on the bottom….
My high school football field has astroturf instead of real natural grass. Does anyone know if I should buy detachable or molded cleats (no turf shoes) and why? I just want to know which type of cleat would give me better traction on an astroturf field.
this winter i’m going on a pretty competitive indoor soccer league.
though, i’m a beginner. /: soccer seems realllllly fun, but i know its gonna
take a lot of practice. i go to the gym everyday, or run outside.
do you think with practice and this league that i could make a good competitive
soccer team in a year or two? maybe less?
also, what shoes could i wear in the indoor soccer,
cleats aren’t allowed, i think it’s on a turf? not wood.
leave examples, adviceee.
ohh & i’m a girl + 13.
thhhannks so much!

After 12 years in the NFL, 4 time pro bowl quarterback Kurt Warner has decided to call it a career. I thought he was very honest about the retirement thoughts in his press conference after he, for the most part, tried to put it to the side while his team was in the playoffs. He said the longer he played, the closer he was coming to hanging up the jersey and cleats. Warner was 67-49 as a starting QB. He threw over 200 TDs for his career. His plans for the future of course include family but he also said that he’d like to be a preacher or minister in his life after football. He wants to eventually watch his kids go to college and play football on Saturdays. He also is very active in the community and wants to continue those initiatives. As far as his Hall of Fame credentials are concerned, he’s in in my book. Not only because he went to 3 Super Bowls, but on two teams in St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals that before he got there were football purgatory. Matt Leinart will now take over as QB of the Arizona Cardinals. Has he matured or is he still stuck in LA? This despite talented players such as Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Steve Breaston, and Tim Hightower. Now is his chance to prove himself. 4 Pro Bowls, 3 Super Bowls, 2 MVPs, 1 very decorated career.
Well im a sprinter and i dont want a spike for practice, i usually use a regular running shoe but then i saw my soccer friend doing soccer workouts on the turf with his mercurial super flys. So i was just wondering if those kind of cleats can take a beating from the track floor. Cause grass/turf is a lot different than track. Im not sure what the cleat is made of, but i think the individual cleats are made of fiberglass?
I mean soccer cleats are meant for speed and agility and stopping power. So im guessing it would work great for sprinting as well, im just not sure if it is okay for track. i checked nike and its 220 i dont wanna wreck 220 dollar shoes. damn thats a lot out of my paycheck. highschoolers dont get paid much these days. damn recession.
Oh and i have wide feet so do you think soccer cleats have a wide form? Cause i always see these skinny *** elongated shoes, ******* size discrimination. And if there is i bet i have to customize it and pay more, If you guys know that would be great. I checked nike and it said not availible right now. But maybe you guys could know.

Taking inspiration from the Mercurial range, the Nike Mercurial Veloci is a Intro level boot designed for speed, agility and balance at a fantastic low price. The Veloci V continues with a Firm but supple Teijin synthetic upper which helps shed weight off the boot but also adding stability and protection to the foot. The boot is engineered with this material as it allows greater moulding to the shape of the wearer’s foot. The Veloci V Firm Ground is perfect for play on firm and hard surfaces but is also available in a large number of alternative soleplates. This boot offers excellent traction and grip which is essential to beating defenders to the ball and getting the most from acceleration. The sole is non marking.
I am giving a high school graduation present to young man that I changed his diapers from birth as a family friend. I kept his first pair of black cleats (from 5 yr old) to his last pair of white custom soccer/football Nike’s (size 12) and I am putting them in a shadow box for him to have as a gift. I want to add a personal poem in the shadow box with both pair of shoes but don’t know how to write. Can you help clean up my thoughts and structure with suggestions? THANKS
FROM BOY TO MAN
From black to white and all colors in between
spring, summer, fall….
We covered the feet of an athlete
who always gave his all.
Mud, dew from the early morning grass
and dusty heat of the Texas summers covered us…
The feet we protected each season
gave us reason to be proud.
We kicked the ball, we tackled, we stole a base,
we stopped on a dime, we gripped the grass and the turf
While the kid made his name known to all.
From league all-star to all-district,
to State and National Champion
We were part of the boy, his dreams
who became a man among the great teams.
Go forth young man with your future plans
and remember that we were there when you got started.
We are the part of the legacy of greatness, the passion
and for the love of the game.
We survived and Rxxx Mxxxx made his name.

Zach Dundas visits Google’s San Francisco office to present his book “THE RENEGADE SPORTSMAN”. This event took place on June 10, 2010, as part of the Authors@Google series. THE RENEGADE SPORTSMAN is a fascinating and hilarious journey into the underbelly of this country’s sporting culture — where fans and competitors alike get rowdier, dirtier, and louder than their mainstream counterparts — to rediscover the true spirit of American sports. A lifelong sports fan, Zach Dundas asks: What happened to the fun, loud-mouthed, down-and-dirty sporting culture he always loved? Has it been replaced with performance-enhancing drugs, fat paychecks, and billion-dollar arenas? Of course not! With a renegade’s eye and a fan’s resolve, Dundas scours the underground to find the games, fans, and “athletes” you won’t find in the sports pages. He tracks a bicycle race across Iowa designed to confuse and downright torture its participants, chases a gaggle of runners wearing red cocktail dresses in Portland, and screams obscenities in Chicago with the rowdy fans of the DC United soccer team. Through these and other harrowing and hilarious adventures, he begins to reconnect with the thrill of sporting as he discovers a vibrant, beautiful, and thriving element of American culture — simmering right below the surface. A fast-paced narrative that reads with the intensity of the sports he’s following, Zach Dundas has uncovered all the eccentric, bizarre characters in this alternative active …
