Nike Air Zoom Control II

Posted under soccer turf shoes

Take your soccer domination inside with Nike’s Air Zoom Control II. You’ll benefit from the large strike zone that the asymmetrical lacing provides and the added stability that you get with the external heel counter. You will always be comfortable in these great boots because they have a molded EVA/phylon sockliner and a Zoom Air unit in the heel. The studs will give you great traction and will even let you use these shoes on turf.

NIKE MERCURIAL SOCCER CLEAT/BOOT QUESTION!!!!?

Posted under Soccer Turf Cleats

i want to buy the nike mercurial veloci cleat with the red and metallic silver coloring around the black nike sign….but i dont know which to get, i see the one without the flab covering the laces for 49.99 and i see the exact same one with that extra flab covering all the laces for 59.99……now a Q for those who have the cleat with the flab over the laces- is the flab stiched to the cleat or is it like a velcro type thingy where you can pull one side off and put it back on because i looked aat the enlarged images and it looks like it is stiched on….and also, which one it better for wet and turf playing???

thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!
jeff…they are on worldsoccershop.com….they arent the best type of mercurials, they are the cheap kind, but i need these cleats for top flight travel and my highschool team, i cant afford the 220 ones

Will’s First Time on Turf

Posted under soccer turf shoes

13 month old Will, who’s only been walking for about a week and a half, takes to the turf for the first time to try out his soccer skills. It’s a little tougher than at home having to deal with shoes, turf and distractions all around.

Choosing the right football / soccer boots.?

Posted under soccer turf shoes

I’m about to purchase numerous pairs of boots to play with when I train.

I’m a US 12 and Euro 46.

I’ve always struggled to find the ideal pair of boots when it comes to size and comfort.

I have a very wide foot, and I know some boot models are designed wider then others – I’m just not sure which.

So I have two questions – the first being is which boots will accommodate my wider foot size. There is a minimal range of football boots in my area so I’m buying online (www.soccer.com)

My second is to do with style of shoe. I play with friends a lot who don’t wear studded shoes, so I was wondering how much grip do indoor / artificial turf shoes give on the firm grass surface?

I know I’ll be able to send them back if there’s any issue with comfort & size, I just want to get it right the first time.
So if anyone can help – would be appreciated.

Cheers

Turf Shoes/Cleats! Which Ones should I Buy?

    Posted under soccer turf shoes

Price isn’t an issue, these prices are in euros, I know. but BETWEEN THESE TWO ONLY PLEASE.

    http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo.asp?DPID=PDS-004-009-946&DEPT=4&BRAND=0&SS=1&GROUP=ASTRO

This one is made for speed and agility, but i’m pretty sure it still has fair control and touch.

    http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo.asp?PID=PDS-004-009-602&DEPT=4&BRAND=0&SS=1&GROUP=ASTRO

This one is made especially for control, accuracy, and power, but i’m assuming its a bit heavier.

I’m playing defending midfielder (stopper) and I want to know which one would be better for my position. I use both speed and control and I just can’t decide between the two.
However, I also play left or right midfielder occasionally.

We do sprints all the time in soccer practice and i was going for the quicker one, but I’m also thinking about games where I need a good first touch. please explain your answer if at all possible

IF neither of these work for you, I’m looking for a flashy cleat, preferably nike or puma or adidas, NO PREDATOR PLEASE.
if you have another good turf shoe, please post the link (if possible, I’d like to know the store to get it , I live in the Toronto/Mississauga/Etobicoke/Oakville etc. area)

thanks in advance to all serious answers :)

Should I buy FG or SG boots(soccer cleats)?

    Posted under Soccer Turf Cleats

I play year round for my high school and club teams, and was wondering what type of boot to get. Whenever I have practices, it is cold and during the night, so the pitch is usually damp. Also, for both teams, the pitch I practice on is your typical park, natural grass(however the high school pitch is definitely lower in quality, consisting of dead patches that easily turn to mud, and is easily torn up, due to our season being right after our american football team’s). Our home matches are played on the same fields, and during high school we practice at least five times per week. However, in high school, about 90% of our away matches are played on that devilish invention called astro-turf. So, which type of stud would you recomend?

    Cheers!
